Jeep parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalled 48,990 of the 2018 Jeep Cherokees due to faulty fuel lines which could lead to engine fires. The only models affected are the 2018 Cherokees with the 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engines. So far Fiat Chrysler has not reported any injuries or incidents related to the production error, though starting June 20, the company will be taking back affected models. The problem: A thinly sliced fuel tube may leak and could result in an engine compartment fire, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says.
